Parkwood Hub

Our Park Wood Hub at Christ Church is also our Princess Project HQ and central office. We are very grateful to Rev Phil Goodey and Christ Church PCC for sharing their space with us so generously, enabling us to provide a safe, welcoming space for mums in Park Wood. The Hub is open every Wednesday during term-time between 10am and 12pm. Mums are given a warm, Princess Project welcome, and a chance to sit down and chat over a cup of tea, and to meet other mums as well as our friendly team of staff and volunteers. Totcycle is open at the same time (see below). There are baby changing facilities, plenty of space to feed your baby, and play areas for older children. What’s unique about the Hubs, however,is that it is a mums’ group, not a baby/toddler group, and you can visit with or without your children.

Our team are there to listen, and not judge, and to be a source of friendly support to mums who visit us. We also have lots of information about various services and places you can go to access specialist support should you need it.

Totcycle at the Hub

Our Totcycle baby and toddler bank is open when the Hub is open- just tell one of the team that you’d like to visit Totcycle, and we will register you and help you find what you need. We have everything from nappies and formula, to clothing and shoes, to larger items such as prams and highchairs (the only things we aren’t able to supply are electrical items).

We may not have all items available when you visit, but we can arrange for you to visit again and collect them at a later date, or we may be able to deliver to you.

We don’t means test, and although we do accept referrals you are welcome to come to us directly. If you need something, we will try and help meet that need, without asking too many questions. We do ask, however, that to make it fair for everyone, you only visit Totcycle once a month (barring emergencies).

MORE ABOUT TOTCYCLE

Getting there

Our Park Wood Hub is held at Christ Church, which is on the corner of Wallis Avenue and Wrangleden Road. There is plenty of free parking in Wrangleden Road, and the number 82 bus from Maidstone town centre stops opposite the church every 10-20 minutes.

We would like to thank Henry Smith Charity and the People’s Health Trust who have kindly given us grants to help with the running costs of the Hub this year.

"I love socialising with new people at the Hub, it's a very friendly environment and welcoming. It's very helpful for bits for the children- we wouldn’t be able to do half the things we do now if we hadn't got a car seat from Totcycle!"
